Live Wedding Music

Wedding couples enjoy the range of bands we have to offer. We manage three: Kahootz, K2, and KB3. All feature rotating multiple lead singers, top-notch equipment and, of course, highly experienced local musicians who are passionate about providing a terrific performance for your friends and families.

K2 band is a nine member rehearsed unit featuring two male and one female front singers and a full rhythm section of keyboards, drums, guitar and bass. In addition it includes saxophones and trombone for added punch. A tenth individual shows up with the band to set up professional sound equipment and bandstand lights. K2 is a young, vibrant music band who knows the most recent hits as well as the usual faves.

KB3 is a slightly smaller band that consists of seven members, which makes them an ideal choice for smaller venues and spaces. This crowd pleaser plays many modern hits together with older standards across pop, rock, R&B, funk, soul, and more. They have performed at fundraisers, weddings, corporate events, mitzvahs, and more.

The Kahootz band was initially formed over a decade ago and is made up of nine members, five of whom takes turns taking lead. They can perform every popular dance style from all eras and they feature a horn and rhythm section.

No matter which band you choose, all three can learn new tunes and play any sort of dance music you ask for. All three add a hip, modern-day vibe to your event. We listen with care to our clients to create the mood and music they prefer to hear at their wedding party such that their guests have a great time burning up the dance floor!

Our bands' members have played at a variety of venues and settings such as events that are outdoors or under tents. (We do have some requirements for this type of venue to guarantee the welfare of your guests and our musicians.)

When you require live music to accompany your marriage ceremony, cocktail hour, or other special moment, Kahootz musicians can provide what you need. Our classically trained musicians play keyboard, guitar, bass, flute, and violin to set just the right atmosphere for a specific section of your day or evening. They're skilled in liturgical, contemporary, and classical compositions and are happy to learn a new piece for your event.

Six Tips For Hiring A Wedding Band

Choosing the right band is key to having the perfect ambiance for your big day. However, if you hire an inexperienced band, your big day may turn out to be a big joke. Because of this reason, it is advisable that you take time to research for different local wedding bands that are available and review them to choose the best band. Here are a few tips to help you pick a suitable band for your wedding.

Tips To Help You Choose The Best Wedding Band.

1. Start Searching In Advance.

If you want to find the best band for your wedding, then you might want to start searching a month earlier, otherwise, you will find most of the top wedding bands already booked. Furthermore, planning in advance gives you time to gather other important details about the band such as how much they charge for their services and the type of music collection they specialize in for such occasions.

2. How Much Are You Willing To Spend For A Wedding Band

A wedding band does not only bring excitement to your wedding, but it also keeps it lively during the entire wedding session. However, you need to be aware of the fact that some bands charge extremely high rates for their services, especially those that are well established and famous. However, you can still get a talented wedding band that is well equipped and render out their services at an affordable cost.

3. Music Selection

You also need to understand that wedding bands do not specialize in the same music collection. Therefore, when conducting your research, you might want to be specific about the type of wedding band you want. That means you can either choose to have a jazz band, a reggae band or even a Motown band, it all depends on the taste of music you want to listen to with your spouse.

4. Band’s Availability

As mentioned earlier, most wedding bands are booked in advance to avoid last minute inconveniences. Because of this reason, it is advisable that you take the same step of booking the wedding band of your choice at least a month earlier before the big day. Furthermore, take the initiative of reminding the wedding band more often to make sure that you are still in agreement.

5. Size Of The Band

Some of the wedding bands that are available today are made of more than five members. Because of this reason, it is necessary that you consider the size of the band in order to be sure that it can fit comfortably on your stage. If possible, you can take the bandleader to the venue and find out from him or her whether the stage will be spacious enough for the team.

6. Review The Necessary Paper Work Before Making A Commitment

To officially book any wedding band, you are required to sign a contract produced by the band and obtain a copy of the original contract. However, make sure that you read the terms and conditions of the contract before signing. Be sure to clarify any information that you may not be sure of and find out whether there are any hidden costs or charges that comes with the contract.

Conclusion

Hiring a wedding band for your big day might be considered to be a luxury by most people, but it is the best way of making sure that you and your guests enjoy the wedding ceremony. Furthermore, a wedding ceremony only lasts for a few hours, but a good wedding band can make the excitement and memories last a lifetime. Moreover, with the help of these tips, you can be sure to find a wedding band that will meet your expectation during your big day.

Should You Have a Live Band or DJ For My Wedding?

Everyone knows that the music for a wedding or event reception can make or break the celebration. Obviously your choices are either a band or a DJ, but which option is best for your event? When starting the entertainment search for your wedding reception, ask your self a couple of questions such as which suits your personal taste, budget and space allowance. Here are some things to consider when choosing the right entertainment package for your wedding reception.

What To Consider

Vibe – The type of music you pick can set the tone for the entire wedding and solidify a theme if you so choose to have one and its usually the thing most guests remember from your wedding. Think about your personal taste in music and what inspires the ambiance you want to make for your special night. Also consider the way the music is delivered either by a live band or played by a DJ can also affect the atmosphere of your event.
Variety – Regardless of what you choose, be sure that the entertainer has a variety of different songs to use through out the night. Fast and slow songs, new tunes and old to make sure the dance floor is always occupied.
Budget – Price is probably the number one factor that goes into deciding what type of musical entertainment you decide to go with. Typically DJ’s cost less because there are less members and equipment but wedding bands bring something to the table that DJ’s just don’t have and that is musicianship with instruments. It’s something they pride themselves with and make sure will be provided at every event. Band prices vary by the number of musicians, amount of time played, the day of the week and the time of the year. So be sure to discuss this with the band leader when first meeting them.
Space – Once you start looking around for bands for your wedding, be sure to keep in mind of the restrictions your picked venue may have. Some venues have limits on the number of musicians as well as the number of equipment that can be allowed to bring in. In addition, make sure your venue has electrical supply or noise limitations.

Wedding Bands

There is nothing like a live wedding band to get a crowd motivated to dance the night away and create an amazing atmosphere. A good professional band will play master of ceremonies at your reception, interact with the crowd during performances and pays attention to the feel of the room to make sure that each song is played at the right moment. With this interaction, the band is letting everyone at the ceremony feel apart of the performance which will overall enhance the feeling of the night. Anything can happen when you hire a wedding band to keep the night exciting from harmonizing melodies to soulful solo’s in songs, the options are limitless.

Wedding DJ’s

DJ’s are a good option if you are using a limited budget and have little space to use. They typically have less equipment to carry around which is great for saving on venue costs. The advantage with a DJ is the amount of songs that can be played since there are no musicians to learn the songs or parts. Plus the songs will sound exactly as you remember them when you first hear them or on the radio. However, buyer beware when considering a DJ. Many DJ’s like to incorporate improvisations to their acts, but if timed incorrectly could ruin the mood of the night and get people off of the dance floor. If you do decide to go with a DJ make sure you find one with a stellar personality that you will feel comfortable with knowing they will control the mood of the night.

Considerations

No matter if you choose a wedding band or a wedding DJ, you will want to do a couple of things before ultimately choosing. Make sure you see the DJ or band in question live so you get a feel of how a performance from them will go. How they dress to perform, how they play the music, how they interact with the crowd, everything. Be sure that, for band, when you see a performance or watch a video that you will be getting the exact musicians for your wedding. For both options at entertainment, make sure you ask for referrals from the last few weddings they performed at so you can get a real account of how things really are during a performance. Before you ultimately sign a DJ or band, be sure to negotiate everything with the leader so they know your list of request songs, what not to play as well as any terms the performer(s) may have. That way everything runs as smoothly as possible.
